Stein Seal Company’s extensive lines of precision crafted face seals meet the demanding criteria of our customers in the aircraft and industrial markets. Choose from a variety of configurations such as
standard single ring, back-to-back or face-to-face seals.
Where a high-pressure gas or liquid needs to be contained a Stein Seal Company bushing seal is a logical choice. Our bushing seals are custom designed to meet and fit a specific application. They can be either the floating or fixed sleeve arrangement depending on the tolerances required to be met.
Bellows seals, usually mated with face seals, are offered in innovative designs for use in difficult environments such as compressors, centrifuges and industrial pumps. Bellows seals are offered in a variety of configurations such as welded toroidal.
Stein Seal Company has developed and patented a film riding (dry gas) circumferential seal. This design provides a more compact assembly then a dry gas face seal. This is the seal to consider for appropriate application in the
Steins Seal Company has developed a Type A pusher seal, Arrangement 3, dual pressurized cartridge seal for the oil and gas industry. This seal will be qualified to API (American Petroleum Institute) 682 standards. Other types and arrangements are available or under development.
The Digital Static Tester was designed and built, and is used in our own facility, as a reliable and accurate way to statically check the leakage rate of a seal. Combined with a fixture to hold the seal, it provides a leakage test system. This is especially important when a seal has to be removed for what ever reason and then before re-installation of the seal it can be checked to be sure no damage has occurred during removal such as seal dam chipping.
Stein Seal Company is proud to have the most extensive test lab facility in the seal manufacturing industry. With over 20 dynamic test rigs we can provide testing services to our customers as well as our own research and development along with seal life evaluations under an extensive list of temperatures, pressures and other condition.
The main purpose of a gearbox seal is to prevent the loss of oil from a gearbox. There are several current designs in use including labyrinth, lip and circumferential seals. This abstract discusses the use of these various seals with the mechanical seal as an alternative.
In Marine applications bulkhead seals are a critical part of a vessels defense against one compartment flooding another. The present solutions all contain negative and positive aspects to their design and thus effectiveness. In some cases seals with inflatable sealing elements can activate prematurely and fail because of propeller shaft rotation. This abstract discusses an alternative to the present seals being used.
